 Anxiety
Disorders. Results in sudden development of symptoms of fear,
heart palpitations, shortness of breath and dizziness. Phobias to
specific objects or situations (including social situations, being
watched by others) may arise. Obsessions and fears that cause severe
distress (such as being contaminated, any disaster or catastrophe
that could happen at home or to a loved one) may manifest themselves.
Posttraumatic Stress.
 Mood
Disorders. Depression. Interest or pleasure is markedly decreased
in nearly all activities, changes in eating and weight occur, sleep
patterns are disturbed, a general loss of energy, feelings of guilt,
repeated thoughts about death (other than the fear of dying), suicidal
tendencies are common.
Complicated grief.
Mood swings abnormally high, irritability, reduced need of sleep and
impulsive behaviours may result.
 Somatoform
Disorders. The psychological treatment of these disorders
takes place when they arise or worsen under states of stress, anxiety
or depression. They may include symptoms that suggest a neurological
or general medical condition, but appropriate investigation along
these lines does not identify any neurological or general medical
condition. Chronic pain, gastrointestinal disorders (such as irritable
bowel syndrome, gastritis and ulcers), dermatological disturbances
(psoriasis, eczemas, dermatitis), breathing disorders (asthma), and
cardiovascular disorders (such as headaches, migraine, tensional headaches)
may result from this condition.
 Sexual
and Gender Identity Disorders. Hypoactive sexual desire,
male impotence, orgasmic disorders, vaginismus, genital pain during
sexual intercourses, parafilias (sexual desire to uncommon objects
or situations).
 Stress.
 Sleep
Disorders. Insomnia, nightmares, circadiam rhythm disorders.
 Adjustment
Disorders. Emotional symptoms, difficulties in adjusting
to new situations or life events.
 Couples
and Family Therapy. Conflicts, divorce, parent/child difficulties.
 Obesity.
 Shyness,
Social Skills problems.
 Forensic reports.
Of victims, in criminal proceedings. Family assessment in civil
proceedings -minors and parents-, etc. Neuropsychological after brain
injury.
